Tommy Busbee grew up in the propane industry. His father worked for Greene’s Propane in Macon, Georgia for 36 years. While he was young Tommy was able to work with his father, and soon after he turned 18, with the Greene family as well. He grew up working in every area of the business. This led him into a number of leadership positions within Mid GA Propane also owned by the Greene family, and then larger companies after the Greene family sold in 1991. Tommy is now the Owner and President of Evergreen Propane which now has five offices across middle Georgia in Eatonton, Forsyth, Macon, Warner Robins and Thomaston.
Tommy first began his involvement in leadership with the Georgia Propane association in the mid 90’s. He understood the need for a strong state based organization that provides for better legislation and services for the propane industry locally and nationally. His first official role was as chairman of the education and safety committee, and then he moved into the area director, treasurer, secretary, president elect, and finally in 2015 Tommy became the president of the Georgia Propane Association.
In his role as president he is able to serve the stakeholders of the Georgia Propane Association like he does his hard earned customers at Evergreen Propane with a listening ear and open mind. Tommy gives credit to the many amazing folks that have served in the association in the past.
Tommy says, “The greatest thing about the GPGA is the opportunity to be enriched by fellow members who have built a foundation for this industry. I have enjoyed learning from individuals that have gone before me while also investing in the future of the GPGA.”
We at Evergreen are proud of Tommy and his role. We are happy to play our part to make this industry better for all of the Georgia stakeholders and Evergreen as well.
